Feeding San Diego - Feeding Millions

Businesses closed. Grocery store shelves empty. Schools doors shut. Unemployment up, and access to food down. These are just a few of the hurdles Feeding San Diego faced this year… hurdles that they work to overcome every day.

Right now 1-in-6 people in San Diego County face hunger with kids at an especially high risk of ending the day hungry. Feeding San Diego works nonstop to fight against hunger and make sure that kids and families have access to healthy nutritious meals day in and day out.

This year, more than ever, your support has created an impact on a huge scale through Feeding San Diego. Since March 14th alone Feeding San Diego has distributed over 12.8 million meals and has seen over a 40% increase in need when compared to 2019. Since July 2019 they have distributed over 31.2 million meals and rescued 27.6 million pounds of perfectly good food from finding its way to the landfills. They hosted Summer Meal Sites giving out over 25,000 meals per week, partnered with hundreds of local businesses and organizations, received over 35,000 in volunteer hours, created emergency food distribution sites, and done everything possible to make sure the basic human need of food is met.

To some people, these numbers may just look like a bunch of big stats; But to us, to you, to the BRO-AM family, and to all of San Diego - these are not just numbers, they are families sharing meals together, parents providing for their kids, kids able to focus on their studies, stomachs full, and lives changed.

This year Feeding San Diego faced a tremendous challenge. This year Feeding San Diego met that challenge head-on using everything in their power to make sure every kid has access to food and a thriving future.

Your support of BRO-AM and of Feeding San Diego doesn’t just provide food, it changes lives.
