Bro-Am 20th Anniversary

2024 Bro-Am Recap

Community. Surfing. Music. Celebrating Kids.

We wanted the 20th Anniversary Bro-Am to be special, with the hope of doing more than ever for our VIPs - the kids! We are in awe of the power of their perseverance and this community’s commitment to the next generation.

Together we raised over $250,000!

We can make the lives of the kids in our community better, and it’s such a gift to see it in action.

— Jon Foreman, Switchfoot

Our Inspiration

The Bro-Am is an annual celebration that gives back to the San Diego community and supports local nonprofit organizations that provide services to homeless, at-risk and disadvantaged youth, with a special focus on programs related to music, art and surfing.

Our beneficiary kids didn’t hold anything back this year, sharing their talents at Benefit Party and Beach Fest!

  • Save The Music Foundation brought Eastlake High’s Top Choir to sing Love Alone Is Worth The Fight with Switchfoot while A Step Beyond’s graduate, Gaby, shared her passion for dance.

  • Rady Children’s Hospital patient, Avila, got us all misty singing her own song AND Live It Well with Switchfoot.

  • Our Challenged Athletes kids showed true courage and stoke with some of them surfing for the first time ever!

  • And the rest of our beneficiary kids had a blast in their Youth VIP Area at Beach Fest hanging with Switchfoot, taking surf lessons and enjoying lunch, games, and community.

We even had a very special duet with Jon and his daughter, Daisy, singing I Won’t Let You Go and dropping some wisdom about how our differences are what make us special.

Join us in reliving these moments as we celebrate 20 years of making a tangible impact in children’s lives together with you…

These kids are giving back ten times as much with their smiles, their appreciation, their attitudes. That’s a gift that you can never outgive.

— Tim Foreman, Switchfoot

Let’s hear it for our Youth VIPs!

Special thanks to Littrell Flooring for sponsoring our Youth VIP Area again! This is such an important space for us to celebrate these kids and get some hang time. Along with Viasat, our Bro-Am Lifetime Partner recipient, whose volunteers provided meaningful support with lunch and games. And a huge thanks to Surfin Fire for giving free surf lessons to these future rippers!

The Bro-Am is not just a one day event. We want it to be a catalyst, a spark, because kids need help every day.

— Jerome Fontamillas, Switchfoot

Two Music Stages This Year!

We were stoked to expand the festival with a second stage for the 20th Bro-Am. With a stacked lineup of artists, the Beach Stage and C St. Stage were jammin’ all afternoon.

The Beach Stage had our friends up front staying cool all day in the VIP Pit hydrated by C2O Coconut Water. The C St. Stage presented by Suja Organic (10-year supporter!) featured all local artists and a rad buildout of the lower level of the Wonderbus with some juicy sips. The rest of C Street was buzzing with activations from BMW of Carlsbad (10-year supporter!), surfboard shaping, pineapple whip, Melin hats, and more.

Live Performances By…

Switchfoot, Little Image, Jordy Searcy, We The Commas, Shua, Jettee, School of Rock Encinitas and our 91X Battle for the Bro-Am winner, The Shane Hall Band

The Backbone of the Bro-Am: Thank You Volunteers!

The Bro-Am Events would not be possible without the huge heart and dedication of over 200 volunteers coming together to give this community and these kids the very best experience.

We are so grateful for you!
